Job Description

ASMACSKSA Contracting Est is looking for Planning Engineer with project management and shutdown/turnaround background. The role involves planning, organizing and co-ordinating projects in Dammam/Khobar/Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop and manage project schedules, ensure safety compliance and oversee project from start to finish.

Job Description

The Planning Engineer will be responsible to:

Project Scheduling & Planning: Develop the best methods and sequences for shutdown and turnaround activities with Project Manager. Ensure the project is completed safely, on time and within budget.
Work Breakdown Structure: Input work breakdown structure to get accurate forecasts on time, resources and cash flow of the project.
Coordination & Supervision: Plan, organize and co-ordinate planning activities and communicate with various departments to achieve project goals.
Technical Records: Maintain and update records for stationary and rotating equipment and assist in preparing reports for maintenance methods, equipment replacement and other technical areas.
Shutdown & Maintenance: Oversee shutdown maintenance, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance for the project.
Logistics Management: Develop logistics solutions for effective resource management across the project.
Milestone Tracking: Set up alerts for contractual dates and milestones to complete on time.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project progress, compare with baseline plans and update schedules based on project team inputs. Prepare monthly progress reports and labor histograms.
Data Analysis & Forecasting: Collect and analyze data for planning, cash flows, charts and histograms.
Training & Safety: Train new employees and ensure compliance with safety protocols, fire safety.

Desired Candidate Profile

The candidate should have:

Educational Qualification:
B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in shutdown/turnaround projects, particularly in refineries, fertilizers, or petrochemical plants in the Gulf region, especially KSA.
At least 5 years of experience in static equipment, piping, erection, and repair/modification works.
Experience in project management software, Primavera.
Skills & Competencies:
Good command of English (written and spoken).
Good communication, organizational and leadership skills.
Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera, MS Project, etc.
Knowledge of shutdown maintenance, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance procedures.
Can manage multiple tasks at the same time with high attention to detail.

Qualifications

B.E from a reputed university.
Minimum 8 years of experience, out of which at least 5 years in Gulf, especially KSA.
Experience in shutdown and turnaround projects in refineries, petrochemicals or fertilizers.
